My favorite rub for ribs (counter-clockwise from noon) … paprika, fresh pepper, sugar, cayenne pepper, cumin, kosher salt, and oregano. Mix in a little olive oil and rub onto meat. Have your spouse, brother, daughter, cousin, or friend grill them on low for a few hours. Enjoy.

Sounds wonderful! That’s making me re-think my Polynesian brunch w Mai Tais!
I really don’t like ribs…but I think it’s the yucky red barbeque sauce most people/restaurants use. These look wonderful though. Couldn’t you come to Salt Lake City and move in next door/across the street?
Yes please!!
mmmm ribs. Looks so yummy!!!
xo, pam
Yum! Spiced Penises.
Mmmmm. I love ribs. And this looks delicious!
i’m gonna write down this combo of spices to try soon. i can’t cook ribs on my gas grill because i can’t get the flame low enough, but i do have access to a nice BBQ pit downstairs that i can use for rib cookin’. i have some Amish molasses (sorgham actaully) that my friend Katie brought me back from her recent visit to Tennessee, she says it makes good BBQ sauce. at home we usually had a “dipping” sauce that was thinner than regular BBQ sauce.
this sounds SPICY SPICY!!!
but looks ohhhhhhhhhh so good.
hi! regarding your question, I’m not sure why it would be recommended to use salt water. that doesn’t make any sense to me. i would simply soak them in warm water until they were hydrated. depending on the dish, you could further process them by simmering them in their soaking liquid. morels happen to be a personal favorite. enjoy!
Mmm. I want some. Generally, salmon is my favorite summer fare, but I think I need to figure out grilling so I can eat more real meat.
Yum!
Your spices looks so artsy! (Ditto the myriad “yums.”)

Yum!!! Used this today. Hubby loves pork, really loves ribs. we don’t have a grill, so I roasted it on about 275 for a few hours with some water in the bottom of the pan and the ribs up on a rack. We both *loved* it. Will probably make it again for potlucks we have with family.
