  Pathways make me want to follow and see where they might take me. And I, too, wonder about the original purpose of that porch — was it for a house? If so, whose house? What happened to it? It is intriguing.

    Karen, it was probably lodging or some sort of building related to the CCCP, which had work camps here during the depression. The porch is made from the same materials and in the same fashion as other buildings around the lake.

  I agree with previous posters – the steps/porch photo is so mysterious. Make a great cover photo for a spooky book.
